What SPCTR is, what we do and why...
SPCTR is a serious team of  paranormal investigators dedicated to helping people who are dealing with unexplained occurrences.
We understand how awkward and unsettling calling in a research group can be. It is our goal to make this process as comfortable as possible.

What SPCTR is:

  • SPCTR is a not-for-profit* group of people with regular jobs who use their not-at-work time to explore, investigate and study locations that may have paranormal activity.
  • SPCTR uses a variety of equipment in an effort to record and document physical evidence of areas that may be haunted.
  • SPCTR strives for professionalismThe goal of  SPCTR is to treat each client and investigation with dignity and respect.
  • Why: It is our hope that through our investigation we can provide the individuals involved with a more informed understanding of their situation along with ways that they may choose to deal with it.
What SPCTR is NOT:
  • Unfortunately SPCTR is NOT a team of "ghost busters!"
  • We cannot physically catch, detain or remove ghosts/spirits from a location.
  • We are NOT, nor do we work with psychics, sensitives or mediums.
  • We do NOT use Ouija boards or conduct séances.
  • We cannot perform "exorcisms" or "cleansings."
What SPCTR does:
  • Prior to an investigation we begin with a basic, informal interview of the people familiar with the location/situation.  We also request a tour of the area to be investigated.
  • The SPCTR team will then determine whether or not to proceed with an investigation.  If so, we will arrange a time that works well for the client and the SPCTR team.
Please note that requesting an investigation from SPCTR does not guarantee that the group will conduct an investigation.
  • Research about the site is conducted to try and find any historical reasoning for what may be happening.
  • When conducting an investigation, we bring a group of three or more SPCTR investigators to the location. The team will gather initial, baseline readings (EMF, temperature, etc.) that will be referred to later in the investigation.  We then set up video and audio equipment to monitor a location for a period of several hours.  During that time SPCTR members take periodic, small-group walk-throughs of the location measuring temperature, electro-magnetic fields (EMFs), taking video and still images as well as attempting to gather electronic voice phenomenon (EVPs).
  • After the on-site investigation is completed, the team will review the data and then provide our findings to the clients.
